Roy Kim Hilariously Addresses Plastic Surgery Rumors on YouTube

Singer Roy Kim humorously addressed past rumors about his 'pre-surgery' photos circulating online.

On the YouTube channel 'Hong Seok-cheon's Treasure Chest,' run by broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon, a video titled 'If You Ask a Twin What Love Is, Roy Kim' was uploaded.

In the video, Roy Kim revealed that he has been a long-time viewer of 'Treasure Chest,' expressing his delight at being invited to join the show, saying, "I've always wanted to be among handsome people, and I'm happy to be invited after a long time." He humorously expressed slight disappointment over the delayed invitation, eliciting laughter.

Hong Seok-cheon mentioned Roy Kim's nickname 'Ttoroi,' noting, "Despite his looks, he has a quirky personality." Roy Kim responded, "People are surprised to see my non-singer side on variety shows and YouTube, but I've always been like this. I just never had the opportunity to show it, and now I'm getting closer to my true self." He added, "To live mentally healthy, there should be no gap between my on-camera and everyday self," sharing his happy current state.

Roy Kim humorously identified his prime appearance as "when I was in the lower grades of elementary school," adding, "I became less attractive during puberty." He continued, "I think my face was at its worst around middle and high school, which is why there are many 'pre-surgery' photos of me circulating." Roy Kim clarified, "It's not surgery, it's time," jokingly explaining that puberty made him look as if he had a pre-surgery face.

Meanwhile, Roy Kim shared that before becoming a singer, he dreamed of being a comedian since elementary school. However, he changed his career aspirations, thinking, "There are always kids in class who are funny without doing anything," realizing he couldn't compete with naturally talented friends. Roy Kim also revealed his dating style, saying he tries to make his partner laugh rather than woo them with songs, showcasing his 'Ttoroi' charm.
