BL Drama 'Thundercloud Storm' Captivates Viewers with Intense Debut on Wavve

The BL drama 'Thundercloud Storm' has captivated viewers with its intense and immersive debut.

Exclusively released today (28th) on the OTT platform Wavve, the first two episodes of 'Thundercloud Storm' (a total of 8 episodes) showcase the evolving relationship between Lee Il-jo (played by Yoon Ji-sung) and Seo Jeong-han (played by Jeong Ri-woo) as they confront their feelings for each other.

'Thundercloud Storm' is a BL drama that explores the intense romance of youth, beginning with sympathy and evolving into jealousy and possessiveness. Based on the popular web novel by author Cheshim, it tells the story of cousins Lee Il-jo and Seo Jeong-han, who reunite at the funeral of their late uncle.

In the broadcast, Jeong-han encounters his cousin Il-jo in a pitiful state at his father's funeral and takes him home. Il-jo's impulsive kiss on the sleeping Jeong-han ignites conflict, leading to Jeong-han's attempt to kick him out. However, when Il-jo collapses from sudden gallstone pain the next day, Jeong-han pays for his surgery, hinting at the emotions already brewing between them.

After Il-jo's discharge, Jeong-han, drunk at a gathering called by his friend Seung-jae (played by Jang Won-hyuk), is escorted home by Il-jo, narrowing the distance between them. While disinfecting Il-jo's wound under the influence of alcohol, Jeong-han kisses him again, stirring emotions. The next morning, Jeong-han declares a forced cohabitation by making Il-jo sign a contract stating, "Until the surgery costs are fully repaid, all rights to Lee Il-jo belong to Seo Jeong-han."

Il-jo's innocent pursuit and Jeong-han's rough defenses become increasingly entangled. Despite Il-jo's straightforward confession, "Because I like you," Jeong-han tries to dismiss it with cold words but finds himself feeling subtle jealousy towards Il-jo. Unable to control his emotions, Jeong-han spills drink orders upon seeing Il-jo chatting warmly with café owner Su-hyo (played by Hwang Seong-yoon) and summons him to a restaurant after work when he can't reach him. Ultimately, Jeong-han's uncontrollable emotions lead him to take Il-jo to a hotel for a passionate kiss, heightening anticipation for their future relationship.

The synergy between the two actors was enough to instantly draw viewers in from the first broadcast. Yoon Ji-sung, a former member of the group Wanna One, which disbanded in January 2019, vividly portrays Il-jo's innocence and confusion with delicate emotional depth and expressive eyes. Jeong Ri-woo skillfully balances Seo Jeong-han's coldness and vulnerability, maintaining the drama's equilibrium.

'Thundercloud Storm' premiered today (28th) on Wavve and will release two episodes every Friday at midnight.
