Drama 'Dynamite Kiss' Sees Ratings Surge with Intense Love Quadrangle

The drama 'Dynamite Kiss,' starring Ahn Eun-jin and Jang Ki-yong, has achieved a nationwide viewership rating of 6.3%. Previously, the second episode recorded a 4.0% rating.

According to Nielsen Korea on November 27, the fifth episode of SBS's Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Dynamite Kiss' (written by Ha Yoon-ah, Tae Kyung-min/directed by Kim Jae-hyun, Kim Hyun-woo/produced by Studio S, Samhwa Networks), aired on November 26, recorded a 6.2% viewership in the metropolitan area and 5.9% nationwide, ranking first among all weekday dramas across all channels during its time slot. The peak viewership moment soared to 7.8%, and the key demographic of viewers aged 20-49 also ranked first on November 26, with an average rating of 1.2% and a peak of 1.62%.

In this episode, a fiery tension began between two men, Gong Ji-hyuk (played by Jang Ki-yong) and Kim Sun-woo (played by Kim Mu-jun), surrounding Go Da-rim (played by Ahn Eun-jin). The love quadrangle intensified with the addition of another woman, Yoo Ha-young (played by Woo Da-vi).

Previously, Gong Ji-hyuk had heroically rescued Go Da-rim from loan sharks. Troubled by his lingering thoughts of her, he rationalized his actions by saying, "She's a team member. I did what any team leader would do." Go Da-rim, in turn, handed him a promissory note, vowing to repay her debt. However, for Gong Ji-hyuk, money was not the issue; he was more concerned about whether Go Da-rim was unharmed or frightened.

Gong Ji-hyuk claimed, "Go Da-rim is mine until the debt is repaid," while continuing to look out for her in his own way. During a team activity of weeding a family park, they shared a sweet moment, and Gong Ji-hyuk was inspired by Go Da-rim's words to come up with an environmental marketing concept.

This unexpected turn in their relationship led to a competitive presentation involving the Mother TF team, with Kim Sun-woo joining as a photographer. Yoo Ha-young, who recommended Kim Sun-woo to Gong Ji-hyuk, further complicated matters, leading to a tense four-way confrontation. The romance in the drama, initially a triangle, began to twist into a quadrangle.

Gong Ji-hyuk and Kim Sun-woo engaged in a heated rivalry over Go Da-rim, unable to express their feelings for her, which amused viewers. Meanwhile, Yoo Ha-young, aware that Kim Sun-woo is not Go Da-rim's husband, was thrown into confusion but quickly used this secret to create a connection with Kim Sun-woo, adding a quirky twist to the plot.

During a subsequent gathering, Gong Ji-hyuk, concerned about Go Da-rim's absence, stepped outside and witnessed Kim Sun-woo and Yoo Ha-young kissing. This shocking scene was a blow to Gong Ji-hyuk, who mistakenly believed Go Da-rim and Kim Sun-woo were married. At that moment, Go Da-rim approached, and Gong Ji-hyuk embraced her to shield her from witnessing the kiss, revealing his genuine desire to protect her from hurt.

The sixth episode of SBS's Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Dynamite Kiss' airs tonight, November 27, at 9 PM.
