Korean Singer Sung Si-kyung Opens Up About Personal Struggles and Emotional Moment with Kyuhyun's New Song

Korean singer Sung Si-kyung recently shared his personal struggles and emotional turmoil, shedding tears while listening to fellow artist Kyuhyun's new song.

On Super Junior Kyuhyun's YouTube channel 'Kyuhyun', a video titled 'Kyuhyun Channel Takeover? Listening Party with Sung Si-kyung for 'The Classic'' was uploaded.

In the video, Sung Si-kyung prepared food for Kyuhyun, trying to maintain his usual composure, but he candidly opened up about recent events that have troubled him.

Sung Si-kyung revealed, "I've been going through a really tough time recently," acknowledging that while the news might have already been reported, he needed to gather his thoughts and stay focused. He shared that he suffered financial losses and a breach of trust from a former manager he had worked with for over a decade, likening them to family. This betrayal led to months of distress and hardship. Previously, Sung Si-kyung had expressed his complicated feelings on social media, stating, "It's not the first time in my 25-year career, but it's not easy even at this age."

Sung Si-kyung further commented, "People in the same field understand each other without words," and admitted, "You can't always talk about your struggles." He added, "Being happy doesn't mean it's any less difficult," jokingly mentioning that forgetting is his current task, hinting at his ongoing emotional struggles.

While listening to the fourth track 'Living in Memories' from Kyuhyun's new EP album 'The Classic', Sung Si-kyung sighed deeply, removed his glasses, and began to cry. Known for rarely showing tears on camera, his sudden emotional display prompted concern from Kyuhyun.

Sung Si-kyung apologized, saying, "I'm sorry, I must have been a bit upset." He explained that the song moved him deeply, stating, "The song was so beautiful." He expressed his mixed feelings, saying, "I was upset about judging whether the song would succeed or not," and praised Kyuhyun's music, saying, "Even though ballads aren't mainstream anymore, it's touching to see someone I love as a junior doing so beautifully and sincerely." He added, "It seems to have mixed with my situation," conveying his heartfelt appreciation for Kyuhyun's music and his own complex emotions.

Sung Si-kyung also spoke about his relationship with Kyuhyun, mentioning, "Kyuhyun calls me whenever he has concerns and asks for advice," and expressed his affection as a senior, saying, "I try to tell him everything and support his decisions."

Despite the financial incident, Sung Si-kyung plans to keep his promise to fans by holding his year-end concert 'Sung Si-kyung' from December 25 to 28 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul's Olympic Park. Meanwhile, his former manager is reportedly under police investigation for charges including embezzlement.
