Jeon Tae-poong's Hilarious Revelations About Coach Seo Jang-hoon on 'Knowing Bros'

Jeon Tae-poong's revelations about Seo Jang-hoon have caught the public's attention.

On the October 22nd episode of JTBC's 'Knowing Bros,' members of SBS's 'Passionate Basketball Team,' including Jeon Tae-poong, Park Eun-seok, Son Tae-jin, and Jung Jin-woon, appeared as guests and shared candid stories about their coach, Seo Jang-hoon.

During the show, Jeon Tae-poong revealed that his previous appearance on 'Knowing Bros' helped him join the 'Passionate Basketball Team' as a coach under Seo Jang-hoon. Seo explained, "When I was a player, Jeon Tae-poong's Korean wasn't this good, but now he's so funny," highlighting the reason for his selection. Hosts Shindong, Kang Ho-dong, and Lee Soo-geun teased, "So it was Seo Jang-hoon's pick," and "He chose you for your humor, not your basketball skills."

The members noted that Jeon Tae-poong seems unusually nervous around Seo Jang-hoon. Son Tae-jin revealed, "Before filming, he said he'd be the 'entertainment character' today, but he goes quiet when Seo Jang-hoon arrives." Park Eun-seok added, "He's American-style with us, but suddenly becomes Korean in front of Seo," causing laughter.

Jeon Tae-poong attributed his behavior to Seo Jang-hoon's 'old-school' tendencies. He shared, "When I first came to Korea, I struggled to adapt to the culture, which became a complex for me. I recovered after retiring, but as soon as I joined 'Passionate Basketball Team,' Seo's old-school ways triggered my PTSD from my playing days," bringing laughter.

Jeon also revealed that Seo Jang-hoon prohibited team cheers, saying, "I tried to lift the mood, but Seo banned Minho from SHINee from cheering. If Minho was stopped, I couldn't do anything either." Jung Jin-woon and Park Eun-seok echoed, "Even when we tried to cheer for the broadcast, Seo would turn and say, 'It's prohibited,'" and "We couldn't even say 'fighting.'" Seo explained, "We were short on time," and "It was to maintain focus." Park Eun-seok also mentioned an incident during a trip to the Philippines where Seo argued with a referee, and Jeon noted, "Seo Jang-hoon completely lost it then."

In the 'Ask Me Anything' segment, Kim Hee-chul asked Jeon Tae-poong, "If you had to choose between Seo Jang-hoon's basketball skills or wealth, which would it be?" Jeon promptly replied, "Wealth. I don't need basketball if I have money. I can live well alone," causing laughter. Seo Jang-hoon agreed, "I'd choose wealth too! I'd answer the same if you asked me."
