Love Triangle Intensifies in 'The Last Summer' as Unexpected Confessions Unfold
In the sixth episode of KBS 2TV's weekend mini-series 'The Last Summer,' which aired on the 16th, new emotional winds blew among Baek Do-ha (played by Lee Jae-wook), Song Ha-kyung (played by Choi Sung-eun), and Seo Soo-hyuk (played by Kim Gun-woo). Since its premiere on the 1st, 'The Last Summer' has been struggling with single-digit viewership ratings.
In this episode, Do-ha finally understood why Ha-kyung had been cold towards him after hearing from Yoon So-hee (played by Kwon Ah-reum). He reassured the still curt Ha-kyung by saying, "Song Ha-kyung. I'm not leaving. We promised," evoking a flutter of excitement among viewers.
Do-ha, Ha-kyung, So-hee, and Nam-jin gathered for a public project meeting. During the serious discussion, Ha-kyung became angry at Nam-jin's suggestion to take things lightly, and when he continued to disrupt the atmosphere, her anger exploded, turning the meeting into chaos.
Ha-kyung later discovered the real reason Nam-jin left the project after watching a video of Do-ha and Nam-jin's argument. Do-ha had confronted Nam-jin about illegal activities and lobbying issues, demanding that he not appear before Ha-kyung, which led to Nam-jin's departure. Learning this, Ha-kyung felt guilty, believing that Do-ha's judgment was clouded and opportunities were missed because of her.
Towards the end of the episode, Do-ha attempted to open up to Ha-kyung. However, she interrupted him, saying, "You looked really cool with Yoon So-hee. She truly cares for and likes you. I'm glad." She then delivered a surprising revelation, "Go back to your place. I've decided to date Seo Soo-hyuk." This unexpected move by Ha-kyung left Do-ha shocked, ending the episode and heightening curiosity about the future of the tangled romance among the three.
