K-Beauty Takes Manhattan: Park Min-young and Team Transform Lives at 'DANJANG'
tvN's reality show 'Perfect Glow' features Ra Mi-ran and Park Min-young leading a team of Korea's top hair and makeup experts as they open a Korean-style beauty shop, 'DANJANG,' in Manhattan, New York. The show, which aired its second episode on the 13th, follows the team as they conquer New York with K-Beauty. The episode showcased the second day of business for Ra Mi-ran, Park Min-young, Joo Jong-hyuk, Cha Hong, LeoJ, and Pony at the first-ever K-Glow shop in New York.
After a hectic first day, the 'DANJANG' team braced themselves for day two, determined to handle twice as many clients. Concerned about her team's well-being, Ra Mi-ran promised, "I'll make sure everyone gets to eat," showcasing her nurturing leadership.
The second client, Rachel, a plus-size model of Korean descent, requested a Korean-style makeover, having only experienced American-style makeup. Joo Jong-hyuk, known as the 'Shampoo Guy,' charmed Rachel with his humor, revealing his past as a lawyer and joking about his secret shampooing skills. Pony uncovered Rachel's youthful skin beneath her heavy makeup, transforming her into a Korean beauty. Rachel was thrilled, declaring, "I'm officially a Korean woman now."
During the third client's session, Cynthia, a scheduling conflict arose. Pony and Cha Hong took swift action, showcasing the team's adaptability. Cynthia, a 14-year K-POP fan, planned to film a 'like JENNIE' cover dance at Times Square that night. Pony, in her element, shared beauty tips used by K-POP idols during water bomb performances, perfectly supporting Cynthia's dance challenge.
