Actress Oh Mi-yeon Opens Up About Life's Greatest Trials on MBN's 'Altoran'
On the October 9th episode of MBN's variety show 'Altoran,' Oh Mi-yeon appeared as a guest alongside Lee Sang-min, Lee Yeon-bok, Cha Yuna, and Danny Ahn to introduce homemade meals.
During the show, host Choi Yuna asked, "I heard you suddenly left a drama at the peak of your career," prompting Oh Mi-yeon to reveal a heartfelt confession that left everyone in silence.
Oh Mi-yeon recounted, "After filming a baby formula commercial, I was heading home when I was involved in a severe head-on collision with a drunk driver, which crushed my car." At the time, she was starring in the popular sitcom 'Three Families Under One Roof' but had to leave the show, and the incident made headlines.
Due to her pregnancy, Oh Mi-yeon could only receive the best possible treatment. She confessed, "When people visited me in the hospital, they only asked, 'How could this happen?' I thought my career as an actress was over. I was terrified to look in the mirror because I was bedridden for 12 weeks."
Oh Mi-yeon debuted in 1973 as the top graduate of MBC's 6th open recruitment. She gained recognition through significant works such as 'Three Families Under One Roof,' 'Three Men and Three Women,' 'Thrice Married Woman,' and 'Bride's Diary.' She continues to be active in theater and on YouTube with 'Yamae Housewife.'
