Comedian Lee Kyung-sil Tearfully Remembers Late Father in Emotional Video
On the 4th, the YouTube channel 'Rolling Thunder' released a video titled "Dad, Have I Lived Well? [New Woman] EP.09 How to Say Goodbye to a Loved One."
In the video, Lee Kyung-sil expressed her longing for her deceased father. She recalled, "When I was in my third year of university, my father stood by my bedside the night before my final exams. I asked, 'How did you get here, Dad?' and he replied, 'I came because I missed you.' I woke up startled, and later that morning, I received a call from my mother saying my father had passed away."
When Cho Hye-ryun suggested she send a video message to her father, Lee Kyung-sil said, "I feel like crying," and expressed her regret that her father never got to see her as a celebrity. "That was the last time I saw him. The following year, I joined a broadcasting company, but my dad never saw me as an entertainer."
She concluded her video message by saying, "Dad, Mom is 97 now. I wonder if you would recognize her. Please take her slowly; we still need her."
Previously, Lee Kyung-sil shared on a broadcast about her father, a retired prison officer, who suffered two strokes when she was in middle school. She expressed her gratitude and apology to her mother, who cared for her father while working and supporting her college education.
