Lawyer and broadcaster Seo Jeong-ju has opened up about the emotional scars she endured due to comparisons of her appearance.

On the 29th, a video titled "Seo Dong-joo's First Honest Confession About Her Father Seo Se-won (Jang Young-ran Gets Emotional, in Cambodia...)" was uploaded to Jang Young-ran's channel 'A-Class Jang Young-ran.'

In the video, Seo Dong-joo shared an update on her mother, Seo Jeong-hee, saying, "My mom had breast cancer surgery, but she is completely fine now. In a year and a half, she will be officially declared cancer-free. She is in perfect health."

When Jang Young-ran asked, "How do you feel about the label of being a star's child?" Seo Dong-joo confessed, "It was tough growing up because my mom was so beautiful, and I was often compared unfavorably to her. It was very sad."

Jang Young-ran further inquired, "Do you remember being compared to your mom's beauty when you were young?" Seo Dong-joo recalled, "People used to say to me, 'Your mom is beautiful, but what about you?' It was upsetting, and I would just cry."

Regarding the pressure of being a star's child, she admitted, "It was difficult because whenever my parents divorced or when I went through my own divorce, it always made big news."

Seo Dong-joo is the daughter of the late comedian Seo Se-won and broadcaster Seo Jeong-hee. She married a Korean-American six years her senior in the U.S. in 2010 but divorced in 2014. She remarried in June to someone four years her junior.
