Rowoon Discusses His Transformation for Disney+ Series 'Turbid Waters'

On the 15th, Rowoon, the lead actor of Disney+ original series 'Turbid Waters', was interviewed at a café in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul.
'Turbid Waters' is a historical drama set in the Joseon era, focusing on the tumultuous lives of those around Gyeonggang, where all the money and resources of Joseon converge. It marks Disney+'s first foray into historical series. Rowoon plays Jang Si-yul, a character who hides his past while working as a laborer in Gyeonggang, eventually becoming a rogue.

Due to his character's setting, Rowoon appears in shabby attire throughout the series. Unexpectedly, he had to reveal more skin, saying, "I once did an underwear ad, so I lost a lot of body fat for this role. I wanted a wild, stray cat-like physique rather than a polished look." He added with a laugh, "When I showed my body to the director, he said it was 'too pretty' for the character. So, I thanked him and ate two hamburgers."
The final episodes, 8 and 9, of 'Turbid Waters' will be released on the 17th.
