Actor Nagi-soo Opens Up About Grief for Late Wife on MBN's 'Special World'
Actor Nagi-soo has opened up about his deep longing for his wife, who passed away a year ago.
On the October 16th episode of MBN's 'Special World,' Nagi-soo reminisced about his memories with his late wife, Jang Moo-sik, and shared the struggles he has faced since her passing. Jang was known as the mother of singer Mina and the mother-in-law of actor Ryu Phillip.
During the broadcast, Nagi-soo expressed the void left by his wife, saying, "It's hard to endure being alone. I had quit drinking because of Mina's mom, but after she went to heaven, I found it hard to cope without alcohol," revealing his reliance on alcohol to fill the emptiness.

He recalled the moment he heard the news of his wife collapsing and being rushed to the emergency room at a university hospital while he was returning from practice in Daehangno. Nagi-soo said, "Mina told me she found her mom collapsed in the bathroom and called 911. My wife was already on a ventilator and receiving artificial respiration. They said she was brain dead," adding, "I couldn't have imagined it. I was at a loss for words."
However, the last gift his wife left behind has become a source of strength for him. Mina and Ryu Phillip made a video call to Nagi-soo during the holidays, warmly advising him, "Take good care of your health, and if you're too busy, it might affect your health. It's good that you're staying busy and not living in loneliness. If there's anything we can help with or do together, please reach out anytime."

Nagi-soo expressed his gratitude and regret, saying, "Our mother went to heaven at 96, and Mina's mom took care of her for four years. It's tough for an elderly person to care for another, but Jang Moo-sik was an incredible person." He added, "I didn't expect my wife to leave so soon. If I had known, we would have traveled and enjoyed good food together. I will do my best to work hard and spend the remaining time meaningfully, as promised to my wife."
