Sam Hammington recently shared why he chooses not to show his children, William and Bentley, their appearances on the popular show 'The Return of Superman.'

On the morning of the 14th, Sam Hammington appeared on KBS1TV's 'Morning Yard - Tuesday Invitation' alongside his sons, William and Bentley.

During the broadcast, Sam Hammington candidly discussed his life in broadcasting with his family. He revealed, "My parents divorced early, and being an only child, I spent a lot of time alone when my mother went to work." He added, "In elementary school, I often visited friends' houses, and even in middle school, I was alone until my mother returned from work." He expressed, "I envied families with many siblings, so I decided I wanted at least two children when I got married."

His connection to Korea began during his university days when he randomly chose to study 'Korean Language.' Sam explained, "My mother raised me very freely, so I didn't study much. After entering a technical college to study international trade, I thought Asian languages would be competitive. Despite not having great grades, I came to Korea as an exchange student."

Sam Hammington recalled, "I was surprised by the crowds and noise as soon as I landed at Gimpo Airport. The dormitory was on top of a mountain, and I had to carry my luggage up there. I couldn't speak Korean and felt lonely and challenged, but I quickly adapted and made friends over drinks."

However, he had to pause his life in Korea due to a sudden illness. Sam shared, "I contracted acute hepatitis A, which damaged 80% of my liver, and it was severe enough to consider a transplant." He continued, "I was found collapsed in the dormitory and taken to the hospital." Although he returned to Australia, he soon came back to Korea. Sam explained, "I was separated from my then-girlfriend, now my wife, and wanted to continue studying Korean. My mother opposed it, but I felt I would regret it forever if I didn't return."

Sam Hammington shared, "When we were first approached for 'The Return of Superman,' William was about three months old, and Bentley wasn't born yet. Initially, we were guests, but the response was so positive that we became regulars and created wonderful memories over four years."

He reminisced about a time when William was often mistaken for a girl due to his bowl haircut, saying, "People at the playground would often ask, 'Are you a girl?' which upset William." William added with a smile, "I think I was a bit cute."

Sam Hammington also explained why he didn't show the show to his children. He said, "Being a reality program, I thought it would be difficult for them to act naturally if they were aware of the cameras. I was also concerned they might develop a celebrity complex at a young age, so I didn't show it to them. Now, they watch it on YouTube and learn about it themselves."

Sam compared the personalities of his two sons, describing William as "quiet and reliable, an FM type," while Bentley is "unpredictable, like a rugby ball." He also openly shared that both sons were conceived through IVF, revealing, "William was conceived after three attempts, and we tried more than ten times for a daughter after Bentley but eventually gave up. I'm always grateful to my wife for staying with me through it all."
