RIIZE Triumphs Over NOWZ in Penalty Shootout at 2025 Idol Star Championships

RIIZE emerged victorious over NOWZ in a thrilling penalty shootout.

On the September 7th broadcast of MBC's '2025 Chuseok Special Idol Star Championships,' RIIZE members Sungchan, Sohee, and Eunseok faced off against NOWZ's Yeonwoo, Jinhyuk, and Yoon in a penalty shootout.

During the broadcast, RIIZE's Sungchan, Sohee, and Eunseok competed against NOWZ's Yeonwoo, Jinhyuk, and Yoon. Sungchan was the first to take the shot. Known as the 'Lewandowski of Nonhyeon-dong,' Sungchan has been recognized as a soccer prodigy, having been active in a soccer team during his middle school years.

Sungchan kicked the ball with power, but Jinhyuk made a great save. Next, RIIZE's Eunseok took the position of goalkeeper as NOWZ's Yeonwoo attempted a shot. Eunseok showcased his excellent skills by blocking the shot, leaving Yeonwoo visibly disappointed. RIIZE's Sohee then stepped up and scored, eliciting cheers from the crowd. Yoon managed to score against Eunseok, leveling the score to 1:1.

Sungchan then successfully scored, and Eunseok blocked Yeonwoo's shot. Sohee also scored, putting RIIZE in the lead. Yoon scored again for NOWZ, keeping the competition tight. However, Sungchan's final shot secured the victory for RIIZE with a score of 4-2, advancing them to the finals. In the subsequent match, LUCY faced off against NCT WISH, with NCT WISH advancing to the finals to compete against RIIZE.
