Renowned actor Han Seok-kyu has announced his candidacy for city council.

In the fifth episode of tvN's 'The Gentleman Project' (directed by Shin Kyung-soo, written by Ban Ki-ri), which aired on the night of the 29th at 8:50 PM, the character Shin Sa-jang, played by Han Seok-kyu, declared his intention to run for city council.

During the episode, Shin Sa-jang revealed his plans to run for office, surprising Kim Sang-geun (played by Kim Sang-ho), who questioned, "Why would someone like you, who dislikes being in the public eye, decide to run?" Shin Sa-jang responded, "Being a city council member has its perks. I need to protect my family, cover up my son's bullying incident, and hide the assault case."

Kim Sang-geun suggested, "There are other ways besides running," but Shin Sa-jang replied, "Since the other side is a current city council member, we need to match their level to make it interesting."

Kim Sang-geun mentioned, "Due to the judicial ethics code, neither Philip nor I can help you," to which Shin Sa-jang replied, "Who asked for help? I have a bigger plan."

In a gathering, Shin Sa-jang officially announced, "I, Shin Sa-jang, who is frying chicken at the chicken shop over there, solemnly declare my candidacy for city council." The merchants cheered and applauded in response.

Shin Sa-jang stated, "Our livelihoods are becoming more difficult, and business is tough, yet there is no vision for our community. If we remain idle, we will all perish." He continued, "Therefore, I propose five visions for our self-employed community and pledge to pursue these five visions," garnering enthusiastic support.
