Finale of 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' Delivers a Heartwarming Happy Ending

The popular tvN weekend drama 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' concluded with a heartwarming happy ending for its lead characters, YoonA and Chae Min.

In the final episode aired on the 28th, viewers saw YoonA's character, Yeon Ji-young, and Chae Min's character, Lee Heon, overcome challenges and reunite in the modern world, continuing their love story and leaving audiences with a sense of excitement until the very end.

The finale achieved record-breaking ratings, with an average of 17.4% and a peak of 20% in the metropolitan area, and an average of 17.1% and a peak of 19.4% nationwide. It also secured the top spot across all channels, including terrestrial networks, during its time slot. Among tvN's target demographic of viewers aged 20-49, the show recorded an average rating of 5.8% and a peak of 7.1% in the metropolitan area, and an average of 6.5% and a peak of 7.6% nationwide, dominating its time slot.

Despite Yeon Ji-young's efforts to prevent a coup, Lee Heon was dethroned and fought against the treacherous Prince Je-san, played by Choi Gwi-hwa. Yeon Ji-young, along with the royal kitchen chefs and performers led by Gong Gil (Lee Joo-an), joined forces to support Lee Heon. Their efforts led to the downfall of the traitors, including Kang Mok-joo (Kang Han-na) and Prince Je-san.

However, the rebellion's chaos reached Yeon Ji-young and Lee Heon. Yeon Ji-young took a sword meant for Lee Heon and collapsed. To make matters worse, the magical book Mangunrok sent Yeon Ji-young back to her original world, leaving Lee Heon devastated.

Back in the modern world, Yeon Ji-young couldn't forget Lee Heon's desperate cries. Discovering a historical record that differed from her previous timeline, she hoped Lee Heon might still be alive and tried to return to him. Despite her efforts, Mangunrok wouldn't send her back to the past. Holding onto her longing for Lee Heon, Yeon Ji-young became the head chef at a restaurant, working with chefs reminiscent of the royal kitchen staff.

While serving dishes to customers, Yeon Ji-young was shocked to see Lee Heon appear in a suit. Overwhelmed with emotion, she embraced him with tears of joy. Lee Heon responded with a tender kiss, fulfilling his promise to make bibimbap for her every day if she became his partner. The series concluded with the couple sharing a loving meal of bibimbap, bringing 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' to a close.
