Relive the '80s: MBC Seoul Music Festival Tracks Released for Streaming

MBC's variety show 'Hangout with Yoo?' (directed by Kim Jin-yong, Lee Joo-won, Ahn Ji-sun, Lee Do-eun, Bang Sung-soo/writer No Min-sun) will unveil its music project, the '80s Seoul Music Festival Finals, on September 27. The festival, featuring 15 teams, is divided into two parts, with the first part's competition tracks available on various music streaming platforms, including Bugs, at 6 PM on the day of the broadcast. All proceeds from the music will be donated to charity.
The festival, initiated to find voices that could stylishly interpret the classic hits of the '80s, has united viewers through nostalgic music, sparking a fervent response. From the blind auditions to the song selection process and the pre-festival event, it has consistently been a hot topic. Anticipation is building to see what performances the participants will deliver with their carefully chosen competition songs.
The competition tracks by Yoon Do-hyun, Solar, Jung Sung-hwa, Liz (IVE), WOODZ, Park Young-kyu, and Ha Dong-kyun are expected to capture the excitement of the live event, as well as the emotional impact of the classic songs and the resonance of the performances.
Yoon Do-hyun, who has reportedly overcome a rare cancer, will perform the legendary band Songgolmae's 'A Chance Encounter' with his signature voice and rock sensibility. Power vocalist Solar's rendition of Lee Sun-hee's 'Beautiful Rivers and Mountains' promises to deliver thrilling chills, while musical actor Jung Sung-hwa's emotional take on Kim Sung-ho's 'Reminiscence' offers deep resonance. IVE's vocal fairy Liz will evoke the original charm of Lee Ji-yeon's 'Stop the Wind' with her clear voice.
The icon of resurgence, WOODZ, will bring a cinematic immersion with his emotional and delicate voice in Lee Seung-chul's 'Last Concert.' Actor Park Young-kyu's life-infused voice will leave a lasting impression with Song Chang-sik's classic 'We Are.' Ha Dong-kyun, with his husky voice, will reveal new charms by rhythmically singing Spring Summer Fall Winter's signature song 'Someone's Dream.'
The production team stated, "We hope you enjoy the romantic and emotional essence of the '80s while listening to the competition tracks from the first part of the '80s Seoul Music Festival. The music will allow you to vividly experience the festival's emotion and energy."
Meanwhile, the broadcast can be watched on MBC's 'Hangout with Yoo?' on Saturday, September 27, at 6:30 PM.
