Baby V.O.X Members Reflect on Past Challenges and Anticipate Reunion Performance

Shim Eun-jin recalls the time when Baby V.O.X had many anti-fans during their active years.

On Big Bang's Daesung's YouTube channel 'Jipdaesung', a video titled 'Jipdaesung's Blind Date with Baby V.O.X' was released.

In the video, Baby V.O.X members gathered for the first time in a while to candidly share their past wounds and memories. Recorded ahead of their full-group performance, Yoon Eun-hye, Kim E-Z, Shim Eun-jin, and Kan Mi-youn opened up about their debut and career experiences, conveying heartfelt messages to their fans.

Yoon Eun-hye was the first to speak, confessing the conflicts she felt at the start of her acting career. She shared, "I wanted to erase my singer image when I started acting," and admitted, "I was so embarrassed by my unprepared self on stage that I couldn't bear to watch those videos." However, she added, "As I got older, I find those moments somewhat endearing," explaining her reason for participating in the reunion, "Fans cherish those times as precious memories, so I realized there's no need to dislike myself anymore."

Kim E-Z commented, "Unlike before, there are no more people cursing us from the audience," and recalled, "It was tough hearing 'Get lost' back then, but now those voices are gone, and I feel at ease." Shim Eun-jin also reflected, "Back then, Baby V.O.X was the 'icon of antis'," recalling with a bittersweet smile, "Sometimes the boos were louder than the music on stage."

Kim E-Z shared a specific experience, "I recently watched an old music show video, and the 'Get lost' chants were louder than the music, which was shocking, and I couldn't even find the choreography that day." Shim Eun-jin added, "If I had been alone, it would have been really hard to endure," to which Daesung humorously responded, "It might have been better to have multiple personalities," bringing laughter to the set.

Yoon Eun-hye also recalled the confusing situation right after joining Baby V.O.X. She explained, "I thought we would have a cute concept, but suddenly we had to perform the sexy 'Get Up'," and added, "The older members were 21, but I was a middle schooler, so it was hard to adapt." Kim E-Z agreed, "That concept wasn't easy for me either." Kan Mi-youn shared, "I was 19 and didn't even understand the lyrics," adding, "They just showed us foreign pop videos and told us to emulate that feeling."

Daesung pointed out the changes in the industry, "Now auditions are global and systematic," and remarked, "Hearing what the members went through makes it even more impressive." The members nodded in agreement, reflecting on their past.

Despite being a representative girl group of the 2000s, Baby V.O.X had to continue their activities amidst numerous misunderstandings and antis. Now, they are ready to embrace their past wounds as memories and open new chapters with their fans.
