DAY6 Reflects on Their Journey and Tears Up on 'You Quiz on the Block'

The band DAY6 shed tears as they reminisced about their past on 'You Quiz on the Block'.

On the October 10th episode of the tvN variety show 'You Quiz on the Block', members of the band DAY6, celebrating their 10th anniversary, appeared to share various stories. The members included Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon.

Sungjin opened up about their early days, saying, "We had big dreams like performing at the Super Bowl halftime show, but those dreams became modest right after debuting. Our first earnings were just 3,600 won." He added, "We would attend radio station gatherings to promote ourselves as much as possible."

Recalling their tough times, Sungjin said, "Back then, a cup of instant noodles cost about 600 won. I thought if we saved up, we could buy six a month. As the leader, I got extra allowance from my parents to buy food for the members. We had no money, so I would also network, telling writers about our band DAY6 and asking them to listen to our music."

Young K shared, "I thought debuting at JYP would be glamorous, with lots of advertisements. But after debuting, there were only one or two articles about us. I carried a JYP shopping bag around to let people know I debuted at JYP."

Dowoon reflected on their four-year hiatus, saying, "It was really tough. Without the older members, I had nothing to do. Playing the drums wasn't enjoyable. It was only fulfilling when I played for DAY6." Sungjin added, "After the Every DAY6 project ended in 2017, we needed a break, but we had to keep going. It was hard to let go because it would have been a burden on the others, so we persevered through that difficult time."

Finally, Young K and Wonpil wrote letters to their past selves, shedding tears. Wonpil said, "Believe in yourself, even if others try to shake you. Keep going, and good days will come. There are many good people, so don't give up." Young K also expressed, "I hope you live well and are happy. We will truly be happy."
