Sunmi Opens Up About 'Celebrity Syndrome' and Clarifies JYP Rumors on 'Salon Drip 2'

Sunmi candidly confessed to experiencing 'celebrity syndrome' and addressed rumors about her relationship with JYP Entertainment's Park Jin-young on the YouTube show 'Salon Drip 2', hosted by Jang Do-yeon, on October 9.

During the show, Sunmi revealed, "In my early to mid-20s, I was caught up in 'celebrity syndrome'." She explained, "Around my 5th or 6th year after debut, I thought, 'I'm a senior, I've been doing this for a long time, I'm Sunmi from Wonder Girls.'" Reflecting on that time, she admitted, "Looking back, it was a foolish mindset. It was a tough period, but overcoming it helped me return to my true self."

Sunmi also shared her thoughts on relationships, expressing a desire to get married. She stated, "I'm 34 this year, and I can count my dating experiences on one hand." She added, "I like someone who is emotionally healthy and wholesome. If I like someone, I confess first."

As a former JYP artist, Sunmi addressed a past anecdote where Park Jin-young expressed concern over her 'all-in' dating style, leading to rumors of a fallout. Sunmi clarified, "When I date and break up, it inspires great songs. Then, PD Park Jin-young might say, 'Did you meet someone like that again?'" She continued, "I really want to clarify that it was just my very first relationship, only once. After that, I've only met good people." She expressed gratitude for the concerned comments, saying, "I appreciate the affectionate worries."
