Hyun Young Reveals Husband's Initial Refusal to Marry on 'Dolsing Fourmen'

On the episode aired on the 9th, the show featured a special segment titled 'The Landing of Giants' with guests Choi Hong-man, Lee Hyun-yi, Hyun Young, and Shim Euddeum.
During the show, Hyun Young revealed, "All of my in-laws are Seoul National University graduates," as she shared the story of joining an elite family.

Tak Jae-hoon asked, "They might have wanted a daughter-in-law from Seoul National University. How did you manage to marry into the family?" Hyun Young proudly replied, "My father-in-law adored me even before the wedding. He was delighted when he first met me, saying, 'How did someone like you come to us?'"
Hyun Young also boasted about her husband's affection, saying he experiences 'separation anxiety' due to his love for her. She said, "He is very possessive and thinks all men would like me."

Hyun Young humorously revealed, "I was attracted to his innocence, but it turns out he has high blood pressure. Even his family members turn red when they talk. I thought it was because he was pure and in love."
Hyun Young, who proposed to her husband first, shared, "Every man I dated wanted to marry me, but with him, I asked, 'Do you want to marry me?' while drunk, and he said, 'We can't.' I persuaded him, saying, 'Why not? We can get married,' and eventually, we did."

Hyun Young's two children attend Chadwick International School in Songdo, Incheon, where the annual tuition is reportedly around 100 million won. Striving to be an 'elite mom,' she admitted, "Parent-teacher meetings are in English, so I sometimes use a phone translator. I memorize questions in advance, but when native teachers explain things at length, I just say YES even if I don't understand."
Hyun Young married Choi Won-hee, a financial professional four years her senior, in 2012. They have a daughter, Daeun, and a son, Taehyuk.
