Yoo Jae-suk Teases Surprising Performance at '80s Seoul Music Festival

On the September 6th episode of MBC's variety show 'Hangout with Yoo,' preparations for the September 11th '80s Seoul Music Festival were showcased, including individual interviews with participants and song selection discussions. To fill the gap left by the absence of female vocalists, the female duo Song Eun-yi and Kim Sook joined as hidden participants, promising a more diverse performance.
The episode achieved a 6.7% viewership rating in the Seoul metropolitan area, securing the top spot among Saturday variety shows. The key demographic of viewers aged 20-49 also ranked the show first with a 3.0% rating. The most-watched moment was when Song Eun-yi and Kim Sook accepted the festival invitation in just one second, with ratings peaking at 8.6% (Nielsen Korea, Seoul area).

A heated song selection meeting ensued. Yoo Jae-suk's 'dance DNA' was evident as he reacted to dance tracks like 'Now (Seoul Family)' and 'Busy Signal (Fire Truck),' causing laughter. Lee Yong-jin suggested an unexpected combination of Ha Dong-kyun and Choi Jung-hoon (Jannabi) for a Fire Truck performance, with Lee Jun-young also mentioned, raising expectations.
Joo Woo-jae encouraged Ha Dong-kyun, saying, "Everyone wants you to dance," while Lee Yong-jin added, "You should be reborn as Fire Truck." Ha Dong-kyun, a vocalist with no dance background, was left contemplating, while Yoo Jae-suk expressed his desire as a producer for a unique festival stage.

Ha Ha and writer Lee Kyung secretly arranged a meeting for DinDin, who expressed interest in a duet with Solar (Mamamoo) and Lalal. However, Solar chose Yoon Do-hyun, and Lalal picked Choi Yoo-ri as their top choices, leaving DinDin to humorously select Woozi as his pick. DinDin, who confessed, "I joined the festival to change my life," expressed his desire to showcase a cool performance, choosing 'A Flower That Didn't Bloom (Kim Soo-chul)' as his hopeful song.
However, Lalal's perfect rendition of the song led to DinDin losing it, while Solar chose 'Beautiful Rivers and Mountains (Lee Sun-hee)' as her solo song, subtly rejecting a duet. DinDin, feeling challenged by the rejections, vowed to deliver a life-changing performance at the festival.

Song Eun-yi and Kim Sook, upon seeing the 80s duo Ddurami, remarked, "We have that vibe," and showcased their harmony with the song. Kim Sook suggested, "Let's call ourselves Gurami instead of Ddurami," instantly naming their team. Yoo Jae-suk proposed, "This song is perfect for you two," while Ha Ha requested the audience to dress in 80s fashion, asking them to prepare a stage with 80s style. Kim Sook confidently stated, "The outfits are ready," showcasing their readiness for the festival, raising anticipation for their perfect performance.
