Actress Park Tam-hee Opens Up About Her Battle with Cancer and the Impact on Her Family

She revealed, "Undergoing chemotherapy caused all my hair to fall out, and I was unable to act for several years." Park expressed her feelings during that time, saying, "Acting makes me feel alive, but back then, it felt like my arms and legs were tied, and I couldn't do anything."
Recently, Park appeared on the 'Newlyweds' channel, where she disclosed, "I was diagnosed with cancer during a health check-up in 2017." She confessed the shock she felt, saying, "I thought, 'Me, cancer?' It felt like my heart dropped and then came back up."
Park also shared her fears about leaving her children behind, saying, "I was only 40. I knew everyone dies someday, but when death became a reality, I felt a whirlwind of emotions." She added, "I wasn't sad about being sick or dying; the fear was about my children growing up without their mother."

The chemotherapy took a significant physical toll on her body. Park recounted, "It felt like all the cells in my body were dead, leaving me weak. My joints were so fragile that walking was difficult, and I had to crawl to the bathroom due to nausea." This led to an unavoidable hiatus from her career.
Currently, Park continues with regular follow-up examinations. She stated, "I undergo tests every six months after chemotherapy, and after five years, it's once a year. My last check-up in April showed no abnormalities," she said with relief. "I'm cherishing each day," she added with a serene smile.
Meanwhile, Park Tam-hee married a businessman in 2008, and they have a son and a daughter.
