Actor Lee Soo-hyuk's Agency Addresses Hangzhou Fan Meeting Controversy

On the 5th, Lee Soo-hyuk's agency, Saram Entertainment, issued an official statement regarding the recent allegations of overwork at his Chinese fan meeting.
The agency clarified, "There are inaccuracies circulating about Lee Soo-hyuk's fan meeting in China, and we want to provide the correct details." They outlined the schedule, stating that the rehearsal observation took about 15 minutes, the main fan meeting lasted 4 hours and 30 minutes, and the benefits session (photo-taking and high-touch) took 2 hours.
Saram Entertainment emphasized, "This fan meeting was a meaningful event where the actor met his fans in person for the first time in 10 years. During the event, as the enthusiasm exceeded expectations and extended the main performance time, we continuously checked on the actor's condition and intentions."
They added, "The actor expressed his desire to do his best since it had been a long time since he met his fans, which led to spending more time with them than planned. After the fan meeting, due to safety concerns, the organizers requested that the actor wait until all fans had exited, and he left only after ensuring everyone had safely departed."
Furthermore, they acknowledged, "It was unexpectedly warm at the venue, partly due to insufficient air conditioning. We will strive to ensure that both our artists and fans experience no discomfort at any official events, domestic or international."
Previously, Taiwan's EBC reported that Lee Soo-hyuk was subjected to labor exploitation at the Chinese fan meeting, claiming he worked nearly 12 hours and showed signs of dehydration due to the heat. Photos of Lee appearing exhausted circulated on social media, fueling the controversy.
Lee Soo-hyuk signed an exclusive contract with Saram Entertainment in July. This fan meeting was his first official overseas event since joining the agency.
