Sunmi Reveals Her Longtime Admiration for Kim Jaejoong in Heartfelt YouTube Video

Sunmi of Wonder Girls recently expressed her admiration for Kim Jaejoong, capturing the attention of fans.

In a video titled 'A Fan's Dream Come True at Deokgye Lake' on Kim Jaejoong's YouTube channel 'Jae Friend,' Sunmi's fan spirit was evident as she struggled to make eye contact with him. Sunmi shared that she was inspired to pursue a career in music after watching performances by BoA and TVXQ, which led her to audition for SM Entertainment. Interestingly, both Sunmi and Kim Jaejoong were recognized for their looks in SM's 'Best Contest.'

Kim Jaejoong asked, "So why did you debut with JYP?" Sunmi explained, "After being recognized for my looks, I hoped to debut with SM, but I never heard back. Then, a casting director from SM moved to JYP and suggested I audition there, which led to my debut with Wonder Girls."

Kim Jaejoong commented, "Before signing a contract, personal choice is crucial. But if you hadn't debuted with Wonder Girls, you might have debuted with Girls' Generation, right?" Sunmi agreed, saying, "That could have happened." Kim Jaejoong added, "Sunmi as a member of Girls' Generation would have been exciting."

Sunmi reminisced about the time when their promotional periods overlapped. She said, "After debuting, I was really looking forward to meeting you. The last time we briefly greeted each other was when we were promoting 'Nobody' and you were promoting 'MIROTIC.'" Kim Jaejoong responded, "There were so many people, and it was hard to notice if you were a fan. To us, Wonder Girls were JYP's big stars."
