Cats Eye to Perform at 2025 MTV VMA Pre-Show: A Rising Star on the Global Stage

On October 2nd, MTV VMA announced via their official social media that Cats Eye will be performing at this year's pre-show. The event will take place on September 7th at 7 PM at the USB Arena Red Carpet in New York, where Cats Eye will perform 'Gabriela' and 'Gnarly'.
The pre-show serves as a precursor to the main awards ceremony and has been a platform for emerging artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna. Cats Eye will grace this stage just over a year after their debut.
The MTV VMA is considered one of the top four major music award shows in the United States, alongside the Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and American Music Awards. This year, Cats Eye is nominated for 'Best Group' and 'Push Performance of the Year'. The 'Push Performance of the Year' award is given to the artist who has delivered the most notable performance among MTV's monthly 'PUSH Campaign' artists. Cats Eye was selected for this campaign with their debut song 'Touch' in January.
The 'Best Group' category includes nominees such as Coldplay, My Chemical Romance, Backstreet Boys, Jonas Brothers, and Seventeen.
Cats Eye was formed through the global audition project 'Dream Academy', a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, and debuted in the U.S. in June last year. They are currently active under the HYBE America training system.
Their second EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS', released in July, reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200, the main album chart in the U.S. The tracks 'Gabriela' and 'Gnarly' also entered the Billboard Hot 100. Recently, they have continued their activities by participating in events like 'Lollapalooza Chicago' and 'Summer Sonic 2025'.
