Actress Park Tam-hee Reveals Her Secret Battle with Cancer After 8 Years

Actress Park Tam-hee has opened up for the first time about her battle with cancer, which she faced eight years ago.

On November 3rd, Park appeared on the 'Newly' channel and revealed, "I was diagnosed with cancer during a health check-up in 2017," adding, "I was shocked, feeling as if my heart dropped and then rose again."

At the time, she was 40 years old, and her children were still very young. Park tearfully shared, "My children were so young, and I was terrified of what would happen if I were gone or if they were left behind."

She kept her illness a secret from her husband and parents. "I only told my eldest sister and asked her not to tell our parents. I didn't want to burden my husband, who traveled a lot for work, so I kept it a secret until the end," she explained.

However, during surgery, unexpected complications arose. Park shared, "I thought it was in the early stages, but it had spread, requiring major surgery. I lost my hair during chemotherapy and couldn't continue my activities for several years." She continued, "I often broke down in tears during chemo. It was incredibly tough thinking about my kids, but I had to endure."

Park expressed disbelief, saying, "There are no cancer patients in my family. Without a family history, it was hard to believe." She added, "Going through it was excruciating. It felt like my heart was dying. I didn't want my family to suffer because of me."

Meanwhile, Park Tam-hee married a businessman in 2008 and has a son and a daughter.
