When asked about his preparation for the role, Kim Yo-han stated, "It was easier for me to immerse myself because I have experience as an athlete." Having practiced Taekwondo for 13 years, Kim was once a promising athlete selected for the national Taekwondo team. He added, "Like Sung-joon, who suffers an injury in the drama, I also had ankle surgery and missed a season. That experience of desperation helped me empathize with Sung-joon's pain more than anyone else."

Kim Yo-han expressed his gratitude for working alongside Yoon Kye-sang, saying, "I was just happy to act with him." He continued, "His deep eyes were a great help during emotional scenes. He was considerate of all the rugby team actors, even passing lines to other actors. He also invited us to a GOD concert, which I attended."
