Heartfelt Story of Singer Cho Hyun-ah and Her Stepfather Unveiled on 'My Ugly Duckling'

This week on SBS's 'My Ugly Duckling,' the everyday life of singer Cho Hyun-ah, who lives with her stepfather after her mother's passing, will be revealed for the first time.

Cho Hyun-ah, who lost her mother five years ago, shared that she has been living with her stepfather, whom she has known for 30 years, drawing attention. When her father was shown welcoming her home, the 'Mom Avengers' in the studio remarked on their resemblance.

Cho Hyun-ah's father, who has "never once raised his voice or nagged," was left speechless witnessing his daughter's unusual hobby at home. The 'Mom Avengers' were also shocked by Cho Hyun-ah's actions, exclaiming, "There are all sorts of peculiar people," and "That's quite unique." The nature of Cho Hyun-ah's bizarre hobby that left everyone bewildered remains a mystery.

The special bond between Cho Hyun-ah and her father brought tears to everyone's eyes. Cho Hyun-ah, who lost her biological father at the age of five and lived with her mother, first met her current father when she started elementary school. Reflecting on the past, Cho Hyun-ah expressed her regret for the times she struggled to call him "Dad" and candidly shared how she eventually accepted him as family.

Cho Hyun-ah also reminisced about her sudden farewell with her mother, who passed away from cancer. Recalling memories of her mother, she shared a touching moment with her father during her mother's battle with cancer. After her mother's passing, Cho Hyun-ah was the one who suggested living together with her father. When she asked her father what he planned to do after her mother's death, he revealed for the first time that he had been unsure if living together was the right decision. When Cho Hyun-ah asked if her mother left any last words for her father, he hesitated before sharing her final words, which deeply moved everyone in the studio, including Cho Hyun-ah.
