Lee Young-ae Shares Updates on Her Twins and Life on 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator'

Lee Young-ae recently shared updates about her twin children on the popular TV show 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator'.

On the October 31st episode of JTBC's 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator since 2014', actress Lee Young-ae appeared alongside Kim Young-kwang.

Lee Young-ae admitted to feeling nervous before her appearance on the show, saying, "I watched the broadcast until 2 AM. It's nice to meet people I've only seen on TV before."

She mentioned that her 15-year-old daughter is a fan of Chef Yoon Nam-no, even requesting an autograph. Lee humorously added, "I don't know why my daughter likes him so much," which elicited laughter.

Lee Young-ae gained national fame with the 2003 drama 'Dae Jang Geum', which achieved a TV rating of 57.9% and was exported to 87 countries.

Thanks to the drama's popularity, Lee received VIP treatment abroad. She recalled, "At the Harbin festival, they stopped traffic for me like they would for a state guest. In Taiwan, they cooked for me in my hotel room." Chef Choi Hyun-seok humorously offered similar treatment anytime.

After living in Yangpyeong for eight years post-marriage, Lee now resides in Seoul but continues to maintain a vegetable garden. She explained her choice to live in Yangpyeong, saying, "I wanted to create a hometown for my children, reminiscent of my own childhood experiences. They loved it."

Lee Young-ae revealed she has two refrigerators, one dedicated to produce from her garden, which intrigued the chefs.

Regarding the blueberries found in her fridge, she shared, "I've been growing a blueberry tree for 12 years. We eat the berries and use the leaves for tea in the fall, which is good for the eyes." She expressed concern that her children's eyesight worsened after moving to Seoul.

Discussing the old cucumber in her fridge, Lee said, "My husband dislikes aromatic vegetables like cucumbers and perilla leaves, but he enjoys old cucumbers. My kids aren't fans. My 15-year-old son loves meat but dislikes soft textures like tofu. I'm here to learn recipes that suit my family's tastes."

When a jar of mala sauce was discovered, Lee commented, "My kids love mala. Feeding them organic food seems pointless now. They order takeout when I'm not home."

Lee also keeps cosmetics in her fridge, explaining, "I started making my own cosmetics after having kids. I even have a cosmetics lab in Yangpyeong," and promised to gift some products later.

Lee Young-ae married Korean-American businessman Jung Ho-young, 20 years her senior, in 2009 and has twins, Seung-kwon and Seung-bin.
