Kim Young-kwang Expresses Trust in Lee Young-ae for Upcoming Drama 'Eunsoo's Good Day'

South Korean actor Kim Young-kwang, born in 1987 and currently single, has revealed his reasons for choosing his latest project and expressed his unwavering trust in co-star Lee Young-ae.

Set to premiere on September 20, KBS 2TV's new weekend mini-series 'Eunsoo's Good Day' tells the intense and dangerous story of Kang Eunsoo, a parent determined to protect her family, and Lee Kyung, a teacher with a double life, as they become entangled with a bag of drugs they stumble upon.

In the drama, Kim Young-kwang plays the role of Lee Kyung, a character who leads a double life. By day, he is an art instructor at Saeroyeo Middle School, known for his prestigious university background, charming looks, and cheerful personality. By night, he is a renowned MD at the famous Gangnam club 'Medusa,' catering exclusively to VIPs. While he appears to be a wholesome and upright young man, he harbors secrets that add tension to the storyline.

Kim Young-kwang cited the opportunity to work with Lee Young-ae as a major draw for the project. He shared, "The chance to act alongside senior actress Lee Young-ae was incredibly appealing. On set, I learned a lot from her focus and energy. Above all, I could trust her, which made filming much more comfortable."

When discussing his portrayal of Lee Kyung, Kim emphasized the importance of capturing the character's dual nature. "Instead of overtly differentiating his outward appearance from his inner feelings, I focused on the natural emotional shifts that occur in different situations. The changes in his external style were also crucial in highlighting his duality," he explained. Kim described Lee Kyung's life as one of 'double living,' noting, "He lives a life completely different on the outside than on the inside. His emotions sometimes lead him astray, but there's a desperation to reclaim his life."

Reflecting on his initial reaction to the script, Kim recalled, "When I first read the script, I was so intrigued by Lee Kyung's dual life and journey that I couldn't put it down. He may seem rough and dangerous on the surface, but he carries secrets he can't share with anyone. Everyone seems fine on the outside, but we all endure in our own ways. 'Eunsoo's Good Day' candidly portrays the unseen weight of life, so I hope viewers will look forward to it."

'Eunsoo's Good Day' will premiere on Saturday, September 20, at 9:20 PM.
