Disney+ Series 'The Chilling Seduction' Faces Backlash Over Littering Incident

The production team of the Disney+ series 'The Chilling Seduction' has issued an apology following allegations of unauthorized littering after filming.

On the 28th, a representative from the production company Showbox stated, "Due to the late finish and darkness, we were unable to thoroughly clean up the site. Upon realizing the situation, we apologized to the filming location and relevant authorities and promptly cleaned up the trash. Everything is now in order," adding, "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by not properly wrapping up the site after filming, and we will take greater care in future productions."

Previously, on the 27th, a netizen posted on social media, "After filming the drama, they left trash in the forest. Sigh. Along with coffee holders sent by fans," along with photos of the littered site. The photos included coffee holders printed with the lead actors' faces.

'The Chilling Seduction' is set in 1935 Gyeongseong and follows the story of a painter, Yoon I-ho (played by Kim Seon-ho), who is tasked with painting the portrait of the enigmatic Song Jeong-hwa (played by Suzy), a woman surrounded by rumors due to her reclusive nature. As he delves into her secrets, the plot unfolds.

Starring Suzy and Kim Seon-ho, and directed by Han Jae-rim, known for films like 'The Face Reader' and 'The King,' the series has been in production since April. With a budget of approximately 45 billion KRW, it has garnered attention even before its release.
