Sunmi Reveals 'Tell Me' Was Her Least Favorite Wonder Girls Song
In a candid revelation, Sunmi, a former member of the Wonder Girls, shared that 'Tell Me' was her least favorite song among the group's hits.

The confession came during an appearance on comedian Kim Dae-hee's YouTube channel, 'Kkondaehee-Bap Mukja,' in a video titled 'A Meal with Sunmi, Who Needs More Than 24 Hours to Talk.'

During the video, Sunmi shared a meal with Kim Dae-hee and opened up about her early passion for dancing, inspired by watching BoA on TV. She recounted, "I loved dancing since I was young and used to watch BoA's performances. As an elementary school student, I took a bus alone to Seoul to audition for SM Entertainment, which held auditions every Saturday." Sunmi added, "I wanted to join SM because of BoA and TVXQ. I auditioned, but since I didn't have a specific talent to showcase, I entered as a 'visual' contestant."

Sunmi continued, "I passed the first round and practiced with others, thinking I might debut with SM. However, JYP Entertainment also offered me a casting opportunity. JYP was significant for me because of Rain and god. During my private audition, I only sang BoA's songs." Ultimately, Sunmi chose JYP over SM due to the timing of their offer, leading to her debut with the Wonder Girls.

Reflecting on the Wonder Girls' success with hits like 'Tell Me,' 'So Hot,' and 'Nobody,' Sunmi expressed her disbelief at their impact, saying, "Looking back, it feels unreal." When asked by Kim Dae-hee about her favorite song, Sunmi chose 'Nobody,' recalling, "While practicing, JYP called me to the studio, played the track, and I instantly knew it was a hit."

Conversely, when asked about her least favorite song, Sunmi named 'Tell Me.' She explained, "I still remember hearing the electronic sound for the first time and thinking it was unlike anything I'd heard before. I was only 16 at the time." Sunmi admitted, "I cried because I wasn't sure if it was the right direction, and I worried it might be the end of our group's career." She also shared that during the album shoot, she struggled with the hair, outfits, and choreography, which she didn't understand at 16, leading to more tears.
