Ko Hyun-jung and Jang Dong-yoon Unite in Thrilling New Drama 'Queen Mantis'

This high-stakes crime thriller, directed by Byun Young-joo and written by Lee Young-jong, is produced by Studio S, Merry Christmas, Megamonster, and Boim Film Studio. The plot revolves around a detective who must collaborate with his estranged mother, a notorious serial killer known as 'Mantis', to solve a copycat crime that emerges 20 years after her capture.
The drama has already garnered significant attention due to the casting of legendary actress Ko Hyun-jung as Jung Yi-shin and the charismatic Jang Dong-yoon as Cha Soo-yeol. Fans are eagerly anticipating the explosive chemistry between these two talented actors as they portray this unprecedented mother-son dynamic.
On August 14, two new posters featuring Ko Hyun-jung and Jang Dong-yoon were unveiled, marking the first time the actors have been seen together in promotional material for the series. The striking visuals highlight the intense presence of both actors, amplifying excitement for the drama.

The imagery evokes the iconic 'Pieta', adding layers of intrigue to their characters' relationship. Unlike a typical mother-son duo, they are bound by a complex web of emotions as a serial killer and a detective.
The posters also feature poignant captions. One reads, "It's warm. The hand that killed five," a line previously delivered by Jang Dong-yoon's character with biting sarcasm towards his mother. Another caption, "Help me. I'll think like you. I'll act like you," reflects his desperate plea to his mother for assistance in capturing the copycat killer.
These promotional images capture the immense energy and presence of Ko Hyun-jung and Jang Dong-yoon, hinting at the intense emotional journey their characters will undergo. With each new teaser, anticipation for 'Queen Mantis' continues to soar.
The drama is set to premiere on SBS on Friday, September 5, at 9:50 PM.
