Song Joong-ki Embarks on a Heartwarming Journey in 'My Youth'

The upcoming JTBC Friday series 'My Youth', premiering on September 5th, has released character stills of Sun Woo-hae, played by Song Joong-ki, evoking memories of first love.
'My Youth' tells the emotional romance of Sun Woo-hae, who starts a normal life later than most, and Sung Jae-yeon, played by Chun Woo-hee, who unexpectedly disrupts the tranquility of first love. The series explores the journey of rediscovering forgotten pieces of oneself through a reunion with a first love that once brought dazzling moments to a shadowed life. Directed by Lee Sang-yeob, known for his delicate storytelling in 'Yumi's Cells' and 'Familiar Wife', and written by Park Si-hyun, who showcased her unique writing style in 'Run On', the series is highly anticipated.
The released photos capture Sun Woo-hae surrounded by flowers, drawing attention. Once a child star who burned brightly too soon, Sun Woo-hae is now a florist who has started a normal life later than others. His routine of navigating the early morning flower markets and tending to plants during the day represents a peaceful happiness for someone who spent his youth in deep shadows. His serene smile in the photos hints at a life story built resiliently over past wounds. The unexpected reappearance of his first love, Sung Jae-yeon, brings unforeseen changes to his life. Additionally, curiosity surrounds why Sun Woo-hae, also a novelist, chooses to live under a veil of anonymity.
Song Joong-ki shared his reasons for choosing 'My Youth', stating, "I felt a warm sensation as soon as I read the script. I was drawn to the heartwarming melodrama and the human stories. Unlike my previous fantasy-heavy roles, Sun Woo-hae, grounded in reality, resonated deeply with me."
JTBC's new Friday series 'My Youth' will premiere on September 5th at 8:50 PM, airing two consecutive episodes every Friday. In Korea, it will be available for streaming on Coupang Play, while viewers in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa can watch it on Viu, Asia's largest regional OTT platform. In the Americas, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and India, 'My Youth' will be accessible via Rakuten Viki, a global OTT platform specializing in Asian entertainment.
