SBS Drama 'Try: We Become Miracles' Reaches New Heights with Rugby Team's Inspiring Journey

In the episode aired on the 8th, the rugby team, now complete with the addition of Moon Woong (played by Kim Dan), united as one team and began their pursuit of winning the national championship. The episode highlighted the return of Oh Young-gwang (played by Kim I-jun), who realized his true passion was rugby, not becoming a civil servant. This revelation strengthened the team's unity, leading them to score 12 points against a professional team, delivering an emotional triumph.
The drama achieved its highest ratings yet, with a peak of 6.5% nationwide, 5.9% in the metropolitan area, and 5.5% nationwide, according to Nielsen Korea. It also ranked first in its time slot and maintained its position as the top Friday mini-series for three consecutive weeks.
Moon Woong's special admission was confirmed after passing a test proposed by the vice principal, ensuring the rugby team's survival. However, tension arose as Joo Ga-ram (played by Yoon Kye-sang) experienced muscle paralysis. Bae Yi-ji (played by Im Se-mi) discovered Ga-ram collapsed in the school hallway, risking exposure of his condition. The principal, Kang Jeong-hyo (played by Gil Hae-yeon), covered for him, attributing his state to alcohol, though Yi-ji knew Ga-ram hadn't been drinking.
It was revealed that three years ago, while preparing for the Asian Cup as a national representative, Ga-ram was diagnosed with severe myasthenia gravis. To monitor his respiratory paralysis, he blew soap bubbles daily, evoking sympathy from viewers.
Despite filling the team roster with Moon Woong's admission, the rugby team continued to face challenges from vice principal Seong Jong-man (played by Kim Min-sang), who denied them access to training facilities. The team resorted to training in empty swimming pools and municipal stadiums. Ga-ram emphasized the importance of winning the national championship to secure the team's future at Hanyang High School.
The rugby team's next practice match was against a professional team with national players. Unlike their previous match against Daesang High, the team approached the game with a fearless attitude, determined to give it their all. However, Young-gwang's decision to prioritize a civil service exam over the match led to a confrontation with team captain Yoon Seong-jun (played by Kim Yo-han).
Ga-ram helped Young-gwang realize his potential, allowing him to choose between the exam and rugby. Ga-ram's heartfelt advice, "When the time comes to leave this ground, let it be your decision," moved Young-gwang, who ultimately chose rugby over the exam.

Meanwhile, Bae Yi-ji faced pressure from shooting coach Jeon Nak-gyun (played by Lee Seong-wook) to manipulate the national team selection in favor of Na Seol-hyun (played by Seong Ji-young), the deputy superintendent's daughter. Yi-ji resisted, questioning, "Are you asking me to rig the match?" Jeon threatened her career, causing Yi-ji to falter and miss her final shot, allowing Seol-hyun to advance to the finals, evoking sympathy from viewers.
Following the broadcast, online communities and social media buzzed with reactions such as "This is truly inspiring," "Joo Ga-ram's character is amazing," "The rugby team is so lovable," "Hanyang High's rugby team is on the rise," "Let's become miracles!" and "Watching this feels like true youth."
