Rising Star Choi Yoon-ji Captivates Audiences with Dual Charms in 'Love, Take Two'

Rising actress Choi Yoon-ji made a striking debut in the drama 'Love, Take Two', showcasing her dual charms from the very first episode.

In the premiere episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Love, Take Two', which aired on the 4th, Choi Yoon-ji took on the role of Lee Hyo-ri, a wandering medical student who is cold only to her mother (played by Yum Jung-ah), leaving a strong impression with her commanding presence.

'Love, Take Two' tells the story of a single mom and her medical student daughter who unexpectedly embark on the second act of their lives, choosing to live for today's happiness rather than tomorrow's, and encountering a story of first love, not the end.

In the episode, Hyo-ri is shown as cold and indifferent only to her mother, yet she displays a tsundere side by volunteering as a designated driver at a gathering and providing hangover remedies. Despite the sarcastic remarks from a university hospital professor, she stands her ground and boldly announces her withdrawal from medical school, dramatically shedding her doctor's coat, showcasing a fiery MZ moment that clearly defines her character.

After declaring her departure, Hyo-ri escapes to Cheonghae with a friend, capturing the carefree emotions of youth in her 20s with laughter. However, upon being discovered by her mother, she creates tension with hurtful words, eventually revealing her brain tumor diagnosis and adopting a resigned attitude, delivering a poignant moment. Her line, "I'm just going to live a trivial life and die," was delivered with raw intensity.

Choi Yoon-ji exudes a mix of warmth and coldness, being bright and lively with friends but endlessly cold and distant with family, presenting a realistic portrayal of contrasting emotions. Her journey of confessing her illness to her family and accepting her pain with tears was portrayed with delicate emotional depth, drawing viewers into the story.

Choi Yoon-ji, who debuted last year in the drama 'Love on a Tightrope', has been at the center of attention with each appearance in various works, including the Netflix series 'Trunk' and tvN's 'Someday Wise Resident Life'. With her lovely visuals and deep emotional acting, she has naturally embodied each character, leaving a lasting impression on viewers. Expectations are high for her first leading role in 'Love, Take Two'.
