Veteran Actress Kim Hye-ja Praises IU and Park Bo-gum's Subtle Performances in 'You Have Done Well'

On the 27th, the JTBC special documentary 'More Beautiful Than Heaven: Hye-ja's Garden' featured both Kim Hye-ja and singer Lee Hyo-ri. During the episode, Lee Hyo-ri visited Kim Hye-ja's home, expressing admiration for the space. She remarked, "It's wonderful, like a room for a clergyman," and noted the numerous trophies, suggesting that the study should be preserved for future visitors. She added, "It feels healing just to see it. The desk has a charming, old feel."
Kim Hye-ja explained, "With age comes many trophies. The desk was made 30 years ago. I thought a bigger desk would be better, so I had it made large."
When asked by Lee Hyo-ri if she had watched anything recently, Kim Hye-ja mentioned 'You Have Done Well', saying, "Park Bo-gum was in it, right? I watched it. I liked that IU and Park Bo-gum didn't overact. They seemed pure and genuine in their performances."
Lee Hyo-ri asked if she noticed any overacting, to which Kim Hye-ja responded, "Being too good can be distracting. Watching performances, I sometimes think it would be better if they were a bit less polished. Perfect acting doesn't appeal to me. Performances that are too flawless feel insincere."
She continued, "I prefer performances that are slightly imperfect. It's better when they're not too perfect." Lee Hyo-ri responded with admiration, "That's wisdom from a master. You're saying you intentionally try not to be too perfect."
