KBS announcer Um Ji-in has revealed her aspirations to become an actress, taking on a new challenge in her career.

On the October 27th episode of KBS2's variety show 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears', Um Ji-in was seen being cast in a drama.

During the broadcast, Um Ji-in shared a glimpse of her acting classes, hinting at her potential future as an actress. She confidently stated, "Like my seniors Oh Jung-yeon and Choi Song-hyun, I'm next in line."

When fellow announcer Kim Jin-woong asked, "What inspired you to pursue acting?" Um Ji-in replied, "Isn't my popularity skyrocketing these days? You know the KBS2 weekend drama 'Please Take Care of the Eagle Five'? I was cast for it, not anywhere else."

She added, "This isn't my first drama appearance," recalling her past acting experiences. However, the hosts offered candid feedback. Jeon Hyun-moo remarked, "Wasn't your role just as announcer Um Ji-in?" Additionally, Um Ji-in shared past photos, claiming she was known as "Y University's Kim Tae-hee" during her school days.

Um Ji-in's passion for acting is genuine. She has been preparing by taking lessons with speech expert Professor Kim Hyun-ah from Sungkyunkwan University. Despite having only about four lines in the drama, she expressed her desire for a larger role by directly asking the director to increase her part.
