Kim Jaejoong: The Frugal Star with a Heart of Gold

Kim Jaejoong has been crowned the 'Frugal Star' after gifting his adoptive parents a luxurious mansion worth 6 billion won. The house features a basement garage, a spacious living room on the first floor, a large terrace on the second floor, and a guest room on the third floor. An elevator has also been installed for his ailing parents' convenience.

On the upcoming episode of KBS 2TV's 'New Release, Pyeonstorang' airing on the 25th, viewers will get a glimpse into Kim Jaejoong's day filled with filial piety. Known as the youngest son in a family full of daughters, Jaejoong's unexpected frugality, despite his generous nature, will be highlighted.

In the VCR segment, Jaejoong visits his parents' home, concerned about their well-being during the summer heat. Shocked to find the refrigerator nearly empty, he learns that his mother has been unable to cook due to leg pain. Determined to help, Jaejoong promises to fill the fridge and begins preparing a variety of healthy and delicious side dishes for his parents.

Jaejoong quickly whips up four different dishes that are both tasty and beneficial for his parents' health. The 'Pyeonstorang' crew is impressed by his culinary skills, dubbing him a 'genius.' However, what truly catches everyone's attention is Jaejoong's frugality. While preparing enoki mushrooms, he insists on saving the stems, exclaiming, "Don't throw them away!"

Jaejoong reveals his secret to growing enoki mushrooms at home, along with other vegetables like onions and carrots. Chef Lee Yeon-bok praises Jaejoong's thriftiness, saying, "This is how you live well." The secrets to his home gardening will be unveiled in the full episode of 'Pyeonstorang.'

Additionally, Jaejoong surprises everyone by making a delicious dish out of watermelon rinds, which are usually discarded. He shares, "I tried it because it seemed wasteful to throw away, and it turned out so delicious that I keep making it. I prefer it over cucumber or zucchini dishes."

Kim Jaejoong's day, filled with love and frugality, will be showcased on 'Pyeonstorang' airing Friday, the 25th, at 8:30 PM.
