BamBam's Heartwarming Thai Adventure: From Family Meals to Culinary Connections

K-pop star BamBam recently visited his sister's home, showcasing a delightful blend of family bonding and culinary exploration on the latest episode of MBN and MBC Every1's 'Do You Know Home-cooked Meal?' aired on the 23rd. The episode featured BamBam and Lee Jang-woo's final journey in Thailand, where they not only served a nutritious Korean breakfast to BamBam's sister but also met with Thailand's top culinary entrepreneur, Watchara Burarak, known as Pla.

BamBam, who had previously suggested visiting his sister's home, led Lee Jang-woo to her impressive three-story house. Lee Jang-woo was amazed by the size of the house, exclaiming, "Your sister has really made it!" BamBam proudly shared that his sister had purchased the house on her own. The duo then revealed the ingredients they had prepared, promising a delicious breakfast.

Despite the house's grandeur, the kitchen was equipped with only a mini rice cooker and a single pot, leaving Lee Jang-woo momentarily flustered. Nevertheless, he skillfully prepared dishes like gochujang stew, bulgogi, and rolled omelets with just one pot. BamBam, whose cooking skills had notably improved, took charge of the omelets and humorously remarked, "I'll be the perfect husband when I get married," earning praise from Lee Jang-woo.

Once breakfast was ready, BamBam's sister, who had finished getting ready for work, enthusiastically enjoyed the meal, repeatedly exclaiming how delicious it was. After the meal, BamBam made a video call to his mother, during which Lee Jang-woo complimented her by saying she resembled Angelina Jolie. His mother humorously responded, "I'm bare-faced right now, is that a compliment or an insult?" causing laughter all around. After a warm conversation, BamBam expressed his gratitude, noting that his family isn't typically expressive but believed his sister appreciated the gesture.

Next, Lee Jang-woo suggested visiting a famous local restaurant owned by his friend, Pla, whom he introduced as a superstar in the culinary world, akin to BamBam's status in the entertainment industry. Pla, who manages 14 brands with an annual revenue of 170 billion won, is also known for her restaurant, popularized by Korean singer Sung Si-kyung. BamBam had previously posted a photo from Pla's restaurant, leading to a friendly offer of free meals whenever he visits.

In a lively atmosphere, Pla served elevated Thai home-cooked dishes such as 'Kai Look Kae' (fried eggs with a sweet and sour sauce) and 'Hor Mok Pla Kanom' (grilled fish cakes with spicy herbs). Lee Jang-woo, after tasting the Thai-style braised short ribs 'Nuea That Diaw,' declared it the best in Thailand and assured that all Koreans would love it. BamBam, relishing the familiar yet unique flavors, expressed that it was his happiest day of filming in Thailand. Lee Jang-woo joked that if he had eaten such home-cooked meals regularly, he would have gained more weight.

To reciprocate Pla's hospitality, the duo accepted an invitation from her business partner's family to prepare party food. Upon arriving at the partner's home, complete with a swimming pool and gym, Lee Jang-woo was awestruck, likening it to a museum. Impressed by the fully equipped kitchens, he poured his heart into cooking.

Lee Jang-woo prepared a special menu of braised short ribs with chestnut puree and soybean paste stew with plenty of beef. BamBam, eager to impress Pla, presented his secret recipe for som tam. The beautifully plated dishes were served, and Pla and her partner's family were touched by BamBam's personal service.

Upon tasting the braised short ribs, Pla was so impressed that she expressed a desire to sell them in Thailand. Lee Jang-woo offered to share the recipe. Pla's partner's husband reminisced about a similar stew made by his Korean roommate's mother during his college days. BamBam's som tam also received high praise, with Lee Jang-woo declaring it the best he's ever had, and Pla's family appreciating the authentic Thai spiciness.

As the meal concluded, the family expressed their gratitude, noting the warmth and memorable flavors.
