Jang Na-ra Opens Up About Challenges of Her Youthful Image

Singer and actress Jang Na-ra candidly shared the challenges she has faced due to her youthful appearance.
On the 23rd, the YouTube channel 'Dominus' released a video titled "Are You Really 43? A Sweet Daily Date with Actress Jang Na-ra, the Icon of Youthful Looks."

In the video, Jang Na-ra was asked by the production team if her youthful image had ever been a burden. She honestly replied, "It has been difficult for a very long time."

She further explained, "The roles I was offered were very similar. I kept getting cast in roles that matched my 'youthful image,' and finding slightly different roles within that was all I could do," revealing her struggles as an actress.

She added, "Because I have such a friendly appearance, it was hard to make significant changes. I worried a lot about it. Even now, I don't know how to proceed in the future."

Her appearance, which contrasts with her personality, has also led to misunderstandings. Jang Na-ra confessed, "People expect me not to get angry because I look kind. That expectation is a challenge when I'm working," and added, "Even when I express anger justifiably, people react with 'Why is she like that?'"

Jang Na-ra also mentioned that she has learned to separate work from her personal life, saying, "For example, if there's trouble at home, I can't act. So, I try harder to keep them separate."

Born in 1981, Jang Na-ra debuted as a singer in 2001 and has expanded her career into acting, gaining consistent love and support. Even after more than 20 years since her debut, she continues to be active, known as the icon of youthful looks.
