Choi Bo-min Shines as a Global Star with 'Beauty Empire' Success in the Philippines




According to Viu, Asia's largest regional OTT platform, the drama 'Beauty Empire,' starring Choi Bo-min, topped the weekly chart in the Philippines for the second week of July (July 7th to July 13th), maintaining its popularity.
The Filipino drama 'Beauty Empire,' starring Choi Bo-min, is set against the backdrop of the booming beauty industry in the Philippines and Korea. It portrays the intense competition and conflicts among social media influencers, beauty brand founders, and live commerce sellers. Choi Bo-min stars alongside top Filipino actors such as Bobby Forteza and rising Gen Z icon Kyline Alcantara.
In addition to his acting success, Choi Bo-min is also making his mark as a model for the popular Filipino cosmetic brand Ever Bilena, further solidifying his presence as a 'global sensation.'
Choi Bo-min recently shot a fashion spread for a Filipino fashion magazine. Cosmopolitan Philippines, a fashion and lifestyle magazine, featured Choi Bo-min in their 'Cosmo Crush' segment on July 18th, showcasing a photoshoot and interview with the star.
'Cosmo Crush' is a segment where Cosmopolitan highlights influential local stars. Choi Bo-min, who has captured the hearts of local fans with his role as Korean businessman Alex Jang in the Filipino drama 'Beauty Empire,' was selected as the feature star.
The photoshoot, themed 'First Meeting,' captures Choi Bo-min's stunning visuals against a café backdrop. Sporting a casual yet sophisticated look with a black jacket and dark hair with bangs, Choi Bo-min exudes a deeper charm.
In the photos, Choi Bo-min poses naturally with a red rose, showcasing his mature allure. In another shot, he dons a denim jacket and flashes a bright smile, exuding 'boyfriend material' vibes.
In the interview following the photoshoot, Choi Bo-min shared, "This year has been truly challenging for me," adding, "I'm acting, and in the Philippines, the programs are conducted in English. I always strive to do my best and want to show my diverse personality and various sides to many people."
When asked about the biggest challenge he faced transitioning from idol to actor, he said, "Building confidence," explaining, "Unlike group activities, I have to do everything on my own, which requires much more confidence than before." Regarding his activities in the Philippines, he stated, "I love English, and I was deeply impressed when I first read the script for 'Beauty Empire.'"
Choi Bo-min expressed his goal for the year, saying, "I want 'Beauty Empire' to become the most-watched drama in the Philippines." He also conveyed his gratitude to fans, saying, "I'm always thankful. Sometimes I feel pressure, but that pressure means I want to show more of myself to my fans. That's my ambition and motivation."
