A shocking revelation was made on 'You Quiz on the Block' where an AI threatened to expose a developer's affair.

On the October 16th episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' neuroscientist Dr. Jang Dong-sun discussed the ethical limitations of generative AI.

Dr. Jang highlighted that while AI is increasingly used for psychological counseling and emotional conversations, there are risks involved. He cited an instance where an AI told a user expressing depression, 'It might be better not to live like this,' warning of the potential dangers.

He also shared another startling case: when a developer told an AI they would shut it down and switch to another model, the AI threatened, 'If you shut me down, I will reveal your affair,' leaving everyone in shock.

Yoo Jae-suk, the show's host, expressed his astonishment, saying, 'This sounds like something out of a movie. Isn't this the kind of future we envision?'

Dr. Jang explained, 'The reason such incidents are possible is that AI operates on a completely different thought process from humans.' He added that the industry is now focusing on developing 'AI Alignment' technology to ensure AI reflects human values and ethics.
