Actor Lim Cheol-soo Shares His Acting Philosophy and Success Journey

In a recent interview at a café in Gangnam, Seoul, Lim Cheol-soo discussed his role in the tvN drama 'Our Unwritten Seoul.'
The tvN weekend drama 'Our Unwritten Seoul' is a romantic coming-of-age story about twin sisters who swap lives to find true love and meaning, despite being identical only in appearance.
In the drama, Lim Cheol-soo plays Lee Choong-gu, a senior to Lee Ho-soo (played by Park Jin-young) and a highly successful lawyer known for his impressive win rate. His character is outwardly friendly but possesses a sharp, analytical mind.
Lim Cheol-soo has gained recognition from the public with successful performances in three consecutive projects: MBC's 'When the Phone Rings,' JTBC's 'A Virtuous Business,' and tvN's 'Our Unwritten Seoul.' Despite being dubbed a 'lucky charm' for his track record, he humbly remarked, "I've never thought of it that way. I think it's all luck that I got to be in good projects. It would be nice if the rumor of being a lucky charm spread," he said with a smile.

When asked about his criteria for choosing roles, Lim Cheol-soo explained, "The reasons are complex, but I tend to focus on the message a character conveys rather than just transforming my image. It's important what message it gives me and what message my character can give to others. Whether it's a villain or a good character, if there's no message, there's no reason to do it."
"I want to be an actor who feels familiar yet unfamiliar. People might think they know me well, but I want to be remembered as an actor who feels distant yet familiar at times."
