Netflix Star Yoon So-hee Shines in 'Brain Academy' Quiz Show with Historical Knowledge

Last year, Yoon So-hee, a KAIST graduate, faced criticism for her emotional decisions in Netflix's 'Devil's Plan: Death Room.' However, she quickly redeemed herself by showcasing her talents alongside Jeon Hyun-moo and the 'Brains' team in various entertainment shows.

On Thursday, the 26th, at 10 PM, Channel A aired the fifth episode of the knowledge-boosting quiz show 'Brain Academy.' The 'Brains' team, along with 'History Master' Choi Tae-sung, tackled a series of history quizzes centered around the Joseon Dynasty. Successfully answering all seven questions prepared by Choi, the team earned a 'Knowledge Medal,' adding to their previous 'Science' medal, demonstrating the power of collective intelligence.

In the studio, the 'Brains' team eagerly anticipated the history-themed quiz, especially looking forward to the contributions of 'History Brain' Lee Sang-yeob. As Choi Tae-sung, known as the 'Legendary Korean History Teacher,' appeared, Lee, who had previously earned an advanced Korean history certification, enthusiastically declared, "History is Choi Tae-sung! My teacher!"

Choi Tae-sung posed a surprise question: "What are the four mountains surrounding and protecting Gyeongbokgung Palace?" Lee Sang-yeob was momentarily flustered, but Hwang Je-sung quickly referenced their alma mater, Sungkyunkwan University, to jog his memory. Yoon So-hee deduced the answer, mentioning "Bugaksan" and "Naksan," and eventually, the team correctly identified the mountains.

Another question asked about a system King Taejong reformed for urban hygiene in Hanyang. 'Science Brain' Gwaydo suggested it might be the drainage system, leading to a humorous exchange with Hwang Je-sung. Jeon Hyun-moo then correctly guessed "Cheonggyecheon," surprising everyone.

Choi Tae-sung praised Jeon Hyun-moo's performance, and the next question involved an innovation by King Sejong, who placed something previously exclusive to the court on bustling streets. Lee Sang-yeob and Ha Seok-jin correctly answered "sundial."

Choi continued to marvel at their collective intelligence, discussing King Seongjong's achievements, including distributing something previously reserved for royalty to patients and prisoners. Gwaydo guessed "cool hemp clothing," but Jeon Hyun-moo humorously doubted it. Lee Sang-yeob correctly answered "ice."

The final question involved a historical anecdote about a treacherous minister, Im Sung-jae, who regretted not offering something to King Yeonsan. Yoon So-hee guessed "woman," and Lee Sang-yeob humorously added "beautiful woman," which turned out to be correct.

The narrative then shifted to the Imjin War, with Choi Tae-sung mentioning a brave militia leader. Lee Sang-yeob and Jeon Hyun-moo simultaneously identified him as "General Gwak Jae-woo." Choi asked what Gwak used to attack the enemy, and Gwaydo guessed "explosives."

Jeon Hyun-moo humorously suggested "food," specifically "onigiri," causing laughter. As they pondered the final question, Yoon So-hee correctly answered "bees," leading to the team's victory and the acquisition of the knowledge medal, celebrating their success together.
