Kim Dong-hyun Becomes the First Solo Diner on 'Handsome Guys'

Kim Dong-hyun made history as the first solo diner on the show.

On the October 26th episode of tvN's 'Handsome Guys', cast members Cha Tae-hyun, Kim Dong-hyun, Lee Yi-kyung, Shin Seung-ho, and Oh Sang-wook were joined by guest stars Park Joo-hyun and Kang Hoon for a culinary adventure in the Namyeong-dong area, exploring lunch and dinner menu recommendations.

The episode kicked off with the 'Handsome Guys' members humorously claiming unique connections with the guest stars Park Joo-hyun and Kang Hoon. Kim Dong-hyun highlighted his role as the leader of the 'Iron Girl Squad' and Park Joo-hyun's boxing instructor. Park playfully teased him, asking, "Will I have to open my wallet with the leader here?" Meanwhile, Shin Seung-ho initially claimed to be meeting the guests for the first time, only for Kang Hoon to remind him of a special appearance in a drama six years ago, leading to a humorous apology.

The lunch menu options were fermented soybean stew and Vietnamese pho. Everyone except Kim Dong-hyun chose pho, prompting Park Joo-hyun to tease, "Are you sulking, leader?" Kang Hoon jokingly questioned Kim's dining etiquette, adding to the laughter. The production team announced they would head to the pho restaurant first, thwarting Kim's plan to enjoy the stew alone.

At the pho restaurant, Kim lamented, "My plan is ruined," as he sought company but found everyone engrossed in their meals. Despite his plea, "Please let me join you," he was left to dine alone. A rock-paper-scissors game with Kang Hoon for a coffee ended with Kang cheekily suggesting Kim take his unfinished drink, leaving Kim bemused.

Kim offered to pay for Kang's meal after he lost a quiz, only for Kang to immediately accept, causing laughter. At the fermented soybean stew restaurant, Kim's solo dining experience provided unexpected entertainment. Lee Yi-kyung quipped, "It's like a family visiting someone in the military," as Kim, known for his cheeky antics, found himself sharing his meal.

The dinner menu exploration saw Oh Sang-wook join after returning from overseas. Lee Yi-kyung, Shin Seung-ho, Park Joo-hyun, and Kang Hoon chose 'pork belly', while Cha Tae-hyun, Kim Dong-hyun, and Oh Sang-wook opted for 'army stew & steak'. The 'pork belly team' astonished everyone by consuming 17 servings, while Kim's father made a surprise appearance at the army stew restaurant.

During a quiz about old movie theater signs, Kim revealed, "My father was an artist who painted movie theater signs," leading to an impromptu phone call. His father humorously remarked, "Dong-hyun was a bit slow as a child. I wish he'd stop having kids," adding to the laughter.
