Cha Jun-hwan Shares Heartfelt Anecdote with Hong Seok-cheon on 'Radio Star'

On the October 25th episode of MBC's 'Radio Star,' the show featured a special titled 'Business is So Easy!' with guests including comedian Lee Bong-won, broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon, figure skater Cha Jun-hwan, and freelance announcer Kang Ji-young. According to Nielsen Korea on the 26th, the episode recorded a household rating of 3.6%, ranking first in its time slot and among the 2049 demographic. The 'Best Minute' was Lee Bong-won's confession about a diving show incident, which garnered a 4.7% rating.
Celebrating his 25th anniversary of coming out, Hong Seok-cheon shared heartfelt stories and symbolic episodes. He remarked, "It's been 25 years since I came out in 2000," and humorously added, "I thought the call from 'Radio Star' was to congratulate me, but it was for a completely different topic." He also expressed gratitude for the societal progress, saying, "When Youn Yuh-jung revealed her son's coming out, I cried thinking of my mother. I'm thankful for the understanding and open society we have now."

Regarding actor Choo Young-woo, Hong jokingly said, "He and his father have shaken my heart. I love them to death." He noted that Choo's father was a former model, and Choo himself, now an actor, has caught his attention.
Cha Jun-hwan shared a humorous story about joining Hong's 'Treasure Box.' He said, "2-3 years ago, all my colleagues were followed by him except me," expressing his past disappointment. Hong explained, "I followed you after you won a medal, fearing you might be mentally fragile." He added, "There's a trade condition for the 'Treasure Box'—you have to kiss my forehead," to which Cha shyly obliged, warming the studio atmosphere.
