ENA's upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama 'Eye Shopping' is generating buzz as writer An So-jung reveals she penned the script with actress Yum Jung-ah in mind. Fans are eager to see if Yum will redefine her career with another iconic role following her success in JTBC's 'SKY Castle' in 2019.

Premiering on July 21st at 10 PM, 'Eye Shopping' is an action thriller that delves into the harrowing survival and revenge of children abandoned by their adoptive parents. The drama is based on a Kakao Webtoon that won the 'Best Creativity Award' at the SPP 2017 Webtoon Awards and has amassed over 51 million views, drawing significant attention even before its broadcast.

An So-jung, the scriptwriter, shared her inspiration, stating, "I was a fan of the original webtoon, impressed by its shocking themes and sophisticated direction." She added, "While the drama is fictional, it reflects real-life issues of parents treating children as possessions or tools. I hope viewers will reflect on the roles of parents and the meaning of family through this work."

Through the narrative of protagonists abandoned by their adoptive parents and the character Kim Se-hee, played by Yum Jung-ah, An aims to explore "the complex emotions of a character whose self-love surpasses maternal instincts." She also highlights the non-blood-related family dynamic formed by Kim Ah-hyun (played by Won Jin-ah) and the children with their savior Woo Tae-sik (played by Choi Young-jun), emphasizing that "a family can be warm and kind if they are sincere with each other."

An also shared insights into the casting process, revealing, "I wrote the character Se-hee with Yum Jung-ah in mind from the start. When her casting was confirmed, it was surreal, and her performance exceeded my expectations." She praised Won Jin-ah for her portrayal of Ah-hyun, capturing both strength and sorrow, and commended Kim Jin-young for embodying the character Jung-hyun with precise emotional expression despite limited acting experience.

Key themes of the drama include 'adoption trafficking,' 'bad parents,' and 'narcissists.' An noted, "The thrilling revenge of abandoned children is central to the story, with scenes of parents facing retribution adding intrigue." She concluded by encouraging viewers to tune in, saying, "While the subject matter is provocative, we've carefully balanced entertainment with a meaningful message. It's not just a genre piece but a profound exploration of family and humanity."

'Eye Shopping' premieres on July 21st at 10 PM and will be exclusively available on the OTT platform TVING.
