Rising Star Kim Sung-jung Makes a Strong Impression in 'Gyeonwoo and Seonnyeo'

Kim Sung-jung, a new actor under YY Entertainment alongside Park Ji-hoon, Bae In-hyuk, and Bae Na-ra, has captured attention with his striking debut.

In the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Gyeonwoo and Seonnyeo' aired on the 23rd, Kim Sung-jung transformed into the delinquent teenager Kim Jin-woong, adding a twist to the show's atmosphere.

During the episode, Kim Sung-jung heightened the tension with a confrontation against Bae Gyeon-woo, played by Choo Young-woo. The scene unfolded in a men's restroom where Park Seong-ah, portrayed by Jo Yi-hyun, was hiding. Kim Jin-woong's sudden appearance led to a clash with Bae Gyeon-woo, showcasing his unique swagger.

Kim Jin-woong approached Bae Gyeon-woo with the line, "Hey, what's with your face?" but quickly shifted to a mocking tone, saying, "Look at the transfer student aura," as Bae Gyeon-woo remained unresponsive. The tension escalated until Park Seong-ah emerged from a stall to protect Bae Gyeon-woo, splashing water on Kim Jin-woong, leaving him bewildered and revealing his endearing clumsiness.

Kim Sung-jung left a strong impact from his first appearance, portraying Kim Jin-woong as a character with a rough exterior but a surprisingly vulnerable side. His contrasting charm is expected to bring vitality to the series as he develops friendships and undergoes personal growth.

'Gyeonwoo and Seonnyeo' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM.

Kim Sung-jung debuted in 2021 with the musical 'Hadestown' and left a lasting impression in 'Weak Hero Class 2' as part of Geum Seong-je's gang, played by Lee Jun-young.
